MetroNet is a telecom services provider, which renders services to corporative customers and communication service providers. The company’s largest 80km fibre-optic backbone has been installed and secured in both directions of Tbilisi Metro. In total 12 fibre-optic cable pairs have been installed in each of the two tunnels with total capacity of up to 100 GB. The company’s data centers are located in two different Metro stations and the topology ensures high resilience.

MetroNet’s transmission network has been running since November 2006, currently serving seven customers in over 60 locations. In addition, the company is able to provide optimal coverage in Tbilisi if paired with an adequate wireless layer.

The company provides Ethernet connections and Ethernet-based services, including high capacity Ethernet backbone service (100MB, 1GB and up), Last mile Ethernet solutions (up to 100MB), E-Line – Point-to-Point Ethernet service, E-LAN – Multi-point-to-Multi-point Ethernet service, Ethernet back-up connectivity and network management out-of-band connectivity for mobile operators.

MetroNet is fully-owned by LC, which acquired the company in 2007.
